The Program
Are you feeling a little creaky? Are some garden chores just getting too hard? Come join Master Gardeners John Bowen and Sue Bumby for a discussion of garden tools that will help keep you gardening for life. Proper tool choices can help make tasks easier and safer, and there are innovative ways to modify your favorite tools to make them more ergonomic. They will bring a selection of new and useful tools, and this will truly be a “hands-on” presentation.

John Bowen is a long-time gardener with some first-hand experience adapting to changing abilities. He’s a Buncombe County Master Gardener and a former science teacher who loves plants. Sue Bumby is also a Master Gardener, home gardener, and educator. They are currently helping to develop the new Master Gardener program on Lifelong Gardening, of which this Tool Presentation is a part.
